Restoration Agreement
By placing an order with PokéRestore, you agree to the following. Please read it carefully, it explains what our service can and cannot do.
1. Restoration is not magic
We clean and improve cards by hand using controlled techniques. We can typically:
- Flatten warped or curved cards and reduce light bends
- Polish and revive holographic foils
- Remove surface dirt, grime, residue and mould
- Clean and tidy edges
We cannot repair every card or every type of damage. In particular, we cannot:
- Rebuild torn, chipped or missing pieces
- Remove deep creases that pass through the card layers
- Reverse water damage that has split or delaminated the card
- Recolour faded, scratched or misprinted areas
2. No guaranteed outcome
Results depend on each card's material, age and condition. We do not guarantee any specific visual result, and we do not guarantee any grading result (PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC or others). Grading companies assess many factors outside our control, including centring and corners.
3. We assess first, and we're honest
When we receive your card, we assess it. If little or nothing can be safely done, we will tell you before proceeding. Where a card is fragile, some techniques carry inherent risk; we use the most conservative approach and will contact you if we believe a card should be left as-is.
4. Inherent risk
Handling and restoring old cardboard carries a small, unavoidable risk. By ordering, you accept that restoration involves working on a delicate physical object and that outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Our liability is limited as set out in our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.
5. Graded slabs ("crack the slab")
If you ask us to crack a graded slab, you accept the specific risks of removing a card from its case. If you send a graded card without selecting the crack-slab option, we will contact you and may issue an additional charge before proceeding.
6. Photos
We photograph cards at reception and when finished, and add these to your order page. Photos are for documentation and may not capture every detail visible in person.
7. Optional return-shipment insurance
Insurance is optional and applies to the return shipment only (from us to you). It is an all-or-nothing option for the whole order: you declare the total value of the cards you send, and we prepay matching "declared value" (Ad Valorem) cover with our carrier (La Poste Colissimo) on the return parcel.
- Cover is limited to the value you declare and is subject to the carrier's terms, exclusions and claim procedure.
- If your cards are lost or damaged in transit on the insured return leg, any compensation is provided under the carrier's declared-value scheme, up to the declared amount.
- Declaring a value that does not reflect the genuine value of the cards may reduce or void any compensation under the carrier's rules.
- The insurance fee is prepaid at checkout and is non-refundable once the return parcel has been shipped.
